TOP STORY: B-Note Market Faces Compression, Consolidation

Following some large recent sales of subordinated mortgage-backed securities and CDOs, it is becoming clear that the B-piece buying segment is on the brink of a period of consolidation after a significant expansion. “Initially there might have been three to five core B-piece buyers, then those numbers grew to 10 or 12,” commented one industry observer. “Now, consolidation is starting to happen again."
