Industry Update: State or Federal, Scrutiny Weighs on Industry’s Collective Mind
By Michelle Napoli From the state and federal levels and a variety of sources, there is scrutiny on the 1031 exchange market and the tenant-in-common industry specifically. Just before the Tenant-in-Common Associations conference started last month, the Federation of Exchange Accommodators gathered for its annual conference in Las Vegas. While the proposed 468B regulations were the QI industrys chief concern, the attention being paid to the TIC industry and broader 1031 exchange circles surfaced a number of times during the FEA event.

TICA Report: Key Topics Include Growth, Excellence, Performance, Communication
By Michelle Napoli The theme for the Tenant-in-Common Associations State of the Union report at its annual conference in Las Vegas might have been best characterized by the slogan: Youve come a long way, baby. The association has more than quadrupled its membership, from 23 in 2003 to 514 this year, the board reported, and the conference has grown considerably, too, from 420 attendees at the March 2005 event to more than 1,150 this October.
